En el Peru, un nuevo proyecto de ley busca reconocer a la tauromaquia como manifestación cultural y paralelamente, en enero del 2023, iniciará la gestión del nuevo alcalde electo de Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, quien es abiertamente taurino. En ese contexto, el equipo de derecho Animal en Peru consider urgente abrir el año con un evento en el que, desde diferentes ramas de la academia, se brinden las razones por las que la tauromaquia no tiene legitimidad en el Peru.

[In Peru, a new bill seeks to recognize bullfighting as a cultural manifestation. In parallel, in January 2023, the administration of the new mayor-elect of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, who is openly pro-bullfighting, will begin. In this context, the Animal Law team in Peru considers it urgent to open the year with an event in which, from different branches of academia, the reasons why bullfighting does not have legitimacy in Peru will be provided.
