National Animal Rights Day – Portland
June 3, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm UTC+0
Event Navigation
This event will take place in downtown Portland, OR at Director Park. We also found out that there is a giant flower festival this weekend where they expect thousands of people to be downtown. We hope to have at least 200 attendees, and then hundreds of passersby. We will be in the plaza from about 12 pm to 5 pm. The event will start out with an eye-catching dramatization of a memorial for all the animals who have been slaughtered for human consumption. There will be volunteers holding pictures of animals, and somber music will be playing. This will last about 30 minutes. After the memorial we will have speakers, possibly Earthling Ed, and other vegans speaking about veganism and its positive impact on animals and the Earth. In the afternoon we will have music and activists and sanctuary booths with people doing vegan outreach. This is a great venue in the middle of downtown Portland where people come to hang out. This is the first year this city will have a National Animal Rights Day.
