Shangano Arts Trust will partner with vegan organizations and stakeholders to advocate for animal rights and promote veganism during the festival using online sessions, media briefs, performers, and exhibition. These activities will target different age groups beginning with children at primary level, men, women, and youths.
This year’s festival edition is celebrating “LET’S GO GREEN.” The event will be intertwined with the following activities:
Day One: Online Discussion Events and Performances
• Online Zoom sessions on veganism and animal rights with vegan advocacy organizations and professionals who have vast experience, knowledge, and understanding on veganism, including elders of the communities and 20 young African campaigners from Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, and Botswana. To formulate a campaign that will reduce killing of animals in Africa and go beyond the festival.
• A full-day creative exhibition with works promoting veganism.
Day Two: Cultural Performances
• Full-day performances open to the public will focus on promoting veganism using theatre, music, poetry, and visual arts.
