11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Join us for a day of remembrance and celebration for the animals we share our planet with. The event includes a moving memorial ceremony, local animal nonprofits, delicious food vendors, inspirational speakers, and more!
Established by the non-profit Our Planet. Theirs Too. in 2011, The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in 35+ cities in multiple countries around the world on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights, until all animals are free from enslavement and until their rights are established and protected by law.
We will begin the event with a memorial ceremony for the billions of animals who die every year by human hands. Participants may hold a picture of an animal and a flower that they may add to a pile. Participants may also say a line about why they are there. Others may hold the NARD sign during this time. The memorial ceremony will close with 2 minutes of silence followed by the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights.
We will then transition into a celebration of the animals in our lives and the steps that are being made every year towards ending animal suffering and shifting the planet to a plant-based lifestyle.
Join us for community, remembrance, good food, and inspiration!
