The road to diabetes does not have to be a one-way street. There is reason for hope. Diets centered around plants, emphasizing legumes — beans, split peas, chickpeas, and lentils — whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds, and discouraging most or all animal products are especially potent in preventing and treating type 2 diabetes. In addition, plant-based nutrition has been associated with much lower rates of obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular mortality.
In this 6-week class, participants will discover the power of your plate in preventing and reversing type 2 diabetes using a low fat, whole food, plant-based diet. Learn how affordable these meals can be as well as delicious and satisfying. Plus, learn how to survive the holidays with plant-based nutrition.
All classes will be on Zoom. Enjoy cook-a-longs every week, get great recipes for quick meal preparation, and meet new friends. Receive great support and health coaching.
