1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Poor diet and lack of exercise put today’s children at greater risk for heart disease, diabetes, and cancer later in life. A foundation for healthy eating is needed to lessen the risk for chronic diseases. The curriculum highlights the positives of the four food groups (whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables) in the Power Plate. This is a nutrition and cooking camp where kids will learn to cook some healthy recipes in each class. A consent form is required for your child. This form will be available at the time of the event. Class topics include: Bang-Up Breakfasts, In-between Meals and Sweeter Deals, Rainbow Lunches, and Digging These Dinners.
