9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
We invite all animal lovers ages 8 through 12 to join us for a workshop on empathy building!
Throughout this workshop we’ll explore what empathy means for each other, our companion animals at home, and farmed animals like the ones at Luvin Arms. During this process, we’ll think critically, make connections, feel in our hearts, and learn how we can act to help animals. We will break for lunch to make a delicious plant-based pizza together and end with a meditation and reflection on what we learned during the day.
This workshop will be led by Alexis Miller, the education and outreach coordinator at Luvin Arms, and Alaina Sigler, who teaches special education at Longmont High school. We will also be accompanied by Donya Hnath, who is a field educator at Ethical Choices Program. All three ladies hold a masters degree in education and are absolute animal lovers.
We can’t wait to see you there for a day of caring and learning for animals!
The pizza we will be making together for lunch contains nuts and is not gluten-free. If you have dietary restrictions, please bring your own lunch. Out of respect for our residents we ask that any food you bring be plant-based. Thank you!
