Humane Education - Anonymous for Animal Rights
2 September 2018 through 20 June 2019Our humane education program was founded 14 years ago. We conduct lectures in middle and high schools, youth movements, community centers, etc. In these lectures, we encourage participants to view animals as sentient beings, whose physical and emotional needs must be considered, and not only as tools for human beings. The format for lectures is adaptable to the children’s age and other characteristics. The lectures discuss cruelty to animals in farm factories and practical ways of avoiding it. Our program reaches and affects an average of 20,000 participants each year. The lectures are held throughout the school year and are free of charge. We reach children and youth from across Israeli society. Lecture series can be adjusted according to specific fields of interest. The lectures receive excellent feedback both from schools and students: 84% of schools say they would invite Anonymous for more activities in the future, and 93% say that they will recommend the lecture for colleagues. As part of the project, we hold special Animal Rights Weeks. We create a custom program for each schools, together with the schools’ staff. During this week, each teacher dedicates a lesson to talk about animals in conjunction with the topic of their class. We also bring celebrities to schools as guest lecturers, who talk about their relation to animal rights and what they do to promote a better world for animals. We encourage students to hold special activities during breaks, like meat-outs and advocacy stands, and provide them with support. Lectures can be scheduled from 2 September 2018 through 20 June 2019. For more information, see https://anonymous.org.il/english or contact Yuval Lachs firstname.lastname@example.org.

The End of Meat Film Screening
815 N 2nd St
Phoenix, AZ 85004 United States
7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m (Doors open at 6:45 p.m.)AzVEG is honored to host a film screening of The End of Meat on October 1st at the Filmbar in downtown Phoenix. Although evidence of meat consumption's negative impact on the planet and on human health continues stacking up as animal welfare is on the decline, humanity's love affair with hamburgers, steaks, nuggets, and chops just doesn’t end. In Germany, home of bratwurst and schnitzel, meat is an integral part of the diet. That is, until a few years ago, when perceptions somewhat evolved. Health concerns and meat scandals led to a public debate about the ethical implications of meat consumption and the rise of plant-based diets. Meat producers launched their own vegan products, 100% vegan supermarkets opened, and almost every food manufacturer was adding and labeling vegan options. Is this the beginning of the end of meat? Are we approaching a turning point in the human-animal relationship? In The End of Meat, filmmaker Marc Pierschel embarks on a journey to discover what effect a post-meat world would have on the environment, the animals, and ourselves. He meets Esther the Wonder Pig, who became an internet phenomenon; talks to pioneers leading the vegan movement in Germany; visits the first fully vegetarian city in India; witnesses rescued farm animals enjoying their newly found freedom; observes the future food innovators making meat and dairy without the animals, even harvesting “bacon” from the ocean and much more. The End of Meat reveals the hidden impact of meat consumption, explores the opportunities and benefits of a shift to a more compassionate diet, and raises critical questions about the future role of animals in our society. Volunteers needed! If you're interested in volunteering at this event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
